The credentials for Toshiyuki Fujiwara,
Japan's new Ambassador to Azerbaijan, were accepted on July 9,
2002. Fujiwara replaces Tetsuya Hirose as Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary. He entered Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
in 1964 and has served in posts in Turkey, Washington, D.C. and
Toronto. From 1999 to 2002, he served as Consul General for Japan
in Kansas City, Missouri; before that, he served as director
of the Ministry's New Independent States (NIS) Division. Contact:
