Reader's Forum
Japanese Grant

In the Reader's Forum of the previous issue [7.3], Japanese Ph.D. student Yoko Hirose wrote to express her interest in Azerbaijan and her desire to visit the country. Congratulations to Yoko for being chosen by the United Nations University's Akino Memorial Research Project to spend a year in Azerbaijan. She will go to Baku next summer to continue her research of Azerbaijani politics and the Nagorno - Karabakh conflict. Interested Japanese scholars are invited to submit research proposals for field study in Central Asia next year. See Web: www.unu.edu/akino/announce.html.
